About:
Grow Yourself is a speculative goal-tracking app designed to make keeping track and staying on top of one's goals more engaging. Grow Yourself allows users to plant flowers by making new goals that they can then grow into beautiful flowers as they complete them. Completed goals and their attached flowers would then be added to an archive that would become a shelf containing all the flowers they have grown in their time on the app.
The color design and direction was made to be calming, simple, and natural. The simple visuals and graphics made it easier for people with cluttered minds to stay organized as they worked on their goals.

The focus while exploring the designs of "Grow Yourself" was to play with the organic and flowing shapes of letterforms and see how I could expand it into something more literally organic. As such, the majority of explorations go into adding leaves and flowers as accents to the designs.
In the end, the logo I went with let the letters of the wordmark take center stage as thin vines swirl around and a set of sprouting leaves grow from those vines next to the wordmark. What really made it work was that the vines were thin enough not to distract from the letters while accentuating the flow and organic shapes in the letterforms.
Work Process

Making and keeping track of goals can often feel abstract, making it difficult to envision and follow through with change. Which is why we tied growth and goals with flowers; not only does it provide an easy-to-understand visual metaphor for personal growth, but it also creates investment in the user's personal growth. After all, even if the user isn't a completionist by nature, there is an exciting anticipation to getting to watch a flower bloom and a true sense of achievement when you finally see that bright, colorful flower fully blossom!
